Godiva

Godiva Chocolatier, the brainchild of Dick Newick and Rory Nugent, was built for the 1980 Ostar. Whilst being transported to England, she capsized in the North Atlantic. Purchased at auction, the boat was restored by Denis Gliksman and went on to compete in several races in the early 1980s, with Jean Le Cam and Michel Desjoyaux on board. It was then laid up for 25 years under the care of Hubert Desjoyaux. Purchased in 2011 by Anne and Paul Buttin, they restored it to a configuration close to its original state. The boat was sailed from Port-La-Forêt to Bordeaux on a single tack, before taking the Canal du Midi and reaching Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône by sea… It has belonged to Yann Suzanne since 2015.
